Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral letter from the family doctor?
At VMfysio, you can get immediate treatment thanks to the Direct Access Physiotherapy (DTF) regulation. This means that you do not need a referral from your primary care physician to make an appointment.
Does physical therapy fall under my deductible?
There is no deductible for physical therapy for insured persons under 18.
18 years and older:
From the age of 18, physical therapy is covered by the deductible only for chronic conditions and only from the 21st treatment. The first 20 treatments for a chronic indication are covered by the supplementary insurance (or are for your own account if you do not have supplementary insurance).
Summary:
The deductible applies only to basic insurance, not to supplemental insurance. Thus, for most physical therapy treatments, your deductible is not claimed.
Is home treatment possible?
Yes, home treatment is possible at VMfysio, when necessary or if you cannot come to our practice independently. This does require a referral from the primary care physician. Contact one of our therapists for more information, or check out our Home Physical Therapy page to find out how we can support you in your own environment.
